Nutrition coaching via MCP: a real coach for the AI you already use
, Connect
Nutrition coaching via MCP lets the AI assistant you already use order a written document from a certified human nutrition coach. You connect Claude, ChatGPT or another agent to a nutrition coach MCP server once. After that, you can say "I want a coach to plan how I eat around my training", and your assistant gathers what the coach needs, places the order, and reads the coach's plan back to you in the conversation.
You keep the convenience of your assistant. You add a person who reads your situation as a whole and puts their name to the advice.
What the connection does
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for giving an AI assistant new tools. Our plain guide to MCP explains it for non-developers. Connected to Care MCP, your assistant can read the catalog, order a plan, an evaluation or a review, follow each order and read the finished document, and see your remaining credit. It cannot pay, change your account or see anyone else's orders.
Three kinds of order
| Order | What the coach writes | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Plan | How to eat in the period ahead, fitted to your days, your training and your goal | $39.00 |
| Evaluate | A look back at a period, read from your food record, with what worked and what to change | $24.00 |
| Review a plan | A check of a meal plan your assistant already wrote, with corrections | $15.00 |
The review is often the most useful place to start. Assistants are quick at drafting meal plans, and many people already have one. A coach reading it before you live by it for a month is a small cost next to following a plan that does not suit you. Our article on AI meal plans goes into what assistants tend to get right and where a coach adds most.
If you train too, you can order training and food together on one order, written by one professional who holds both qualifications, for $79.00. All prices are on the pricing page.
The food record and the plate model
A coach can only be as good as what they know about how you eat. So the brief your assistant sends follows published standards.
The food record. For an evaluation, your assistant sends a food record: what you ate and drank over a period, meal by meal, as close to real life as you can make it. You do not need a special app. Tell your assistant what you had, or paste in what you already log, and it puts the record in the format the coach reads. A few honest days usually say more than a perfect week you invented afterwards.
The plate model. Plans are written with the plate model: a simple way of dividing a meal into vegetables and fruit, a source of protein, and starchy foods, with the proportions shifted to fit your day and your training. It is easy to use at a table without weighing anything, which is why coaches like it. Where training needs more precision, the coach draws on the position stands of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), for example on protein around training.
Alongside that, the brief carries SMART goals, a short health declaration based on the PAR-Q+ questionnaire, your body measures and your habits. The coach reads it without your name, email or account; they see your age, your language and what you chose to share.
What a nutrition coach is, and what they are not
A nutrition coach helps a healthy adult eat in a way that fits their life, their training and their goals. They are good at the practical questions: how to build a breakfast that lasts until lunch, how to eat enough around hard sessions, how to make a plan survive a busy week.
The coaches on Care MCP are certified nutrition coaches. They are not dietitians, nutritionists or doctors, and we never call them that. That line matters, and it shapes what can be ordered:
- No plans aimed at a medical condition, and no treatment.
- No targets set on lab values such as blood sugar or cholesterol.
- No orders for someone with an eating disorder.
- Adults only, 18 and over.
If you have a diagnosis that food affects, such as diabetes, kidney disease or a food allergy, talk to your doctor, who can refer you to a dietitian. Our article on a nutrition coach or a dietitian helps you tell which you need. Some health declaration answers mean an order waits for a clinician's clearance or is refused, and you are told why. Every document ends with a Referral heading that points you to health care when something in your brief calls for it. In a few countries food advice is reserved by law, and those orders are closed there.
Delivery, money and data
A coach usually delivers within two days of taking the order. That is a usual time, not a promise. Your assistant can check the status whenever you ask.
You add prepaid credit yourself on your account page; your assistant cannot pay. A document is charged only when it is delivered, so a refused order costs nothing. There is no subscription, and unused credit is refunded on request.
Everything is stored in the EU. Briefs and documents are encrypted in the database with a key kept outside it, health data is used only with your explicit consent, and deleting your account erases your briefs and documents. We do not sell data or train AI models on them.
Connect your assistant
Paste https://caremcp.com/mcp into your assistant's connector settings, sign in with Apple or Google, and allow it. The steps for each assistant are on the connect page. Then ask your assistant for a coach's plan, or for a coach to check the one you already have.
