Personal training with Claude: connect a certified trainer in two minutes

You can give Claude a certified personal trainer in about two minutes. Add Care MCP as a custom connector in Claude, sign in once, and Claude can order a training plan, an evaluation of your last block or a review of a plan it wrote, from a real certified trainer. This guide walks through the Claude MCP setup step by step, then shows what to say to Claude afterwards.

What you need

• A Claude account. Custom connectors work on Claude on the web and in Claude Desktop. According to Claude's help center, free accounts can add one custom connector, and paid plans can add more. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to add the connector for the organisation first.
• An Apple or Google account to sign in with. The same sign-in creates your Care MCP account the first time.

Connecting costs nothing.

Connect Claude, step by step

1. Open Claude connectors. In Claude, open the menu with your settings and find Connectors. Claude has moved this menu between versions: in current versions it sits under Customize, in others under Settings.
2. Add a custom connector. Choose the plus button, then Add custom connector.
3. Name it and paste the address. Call it Care MCP and paste https://caremcp.com/mcp as the URL. Leave the advanced settings empty. Choose Add.
4. Sign in. Claude opens our sign-in in a window. Sign in with Apple or Google.
5. Allow it. Allow Claude to use Care MCP, and you are back in Claude.
6. Turn it on in a chat. Start a new conversation. If you do not see the tools, open the plus button at the lower left of the message box, then Connectors, and switch Care MCP on.

That is the whole setup. Claude now has a small set of Care MCP tools: read the catalog, order a plan, an evaluation or a review, read your orders and their documents, and see your credit. It cannot pay, change your account or see anyone else's orders, and you can revoke it on your account page at any time. The connect page lists the steps for other assistants too.

Add credit before your first order

Claude cannot pay, by design. Before your first order, put credit on your account yourself, on your account page. A document is charged only when it is delivered, so a refused order costs nothing. There is no subscription, and unused credit is refunded on request. A training plan is $49.00; every price is on the pricing page.

What to say to Claude afterwards

Talk to Claude as you normally would. It knows when to use the connector. A few ways to start:

• "What can I order from Care MCP, and what does each one cost?"
• "I want a certified trainer to write me an eight week strength plan. Interview me for what they need."
• "Here is the plan we made last week. Order a review of it from a trainer before I start."
• "I have logged four weeks of sessions. Order an evaluation and ask the trainer whether I should add a fourth day."
• "Is my order ready yet? Read me the trainer's plan when it is."
• "I want training and food on one order. What would that cost?"

Claude then asks what the trainer needs. Expect questions about your goal, your training history, the days and minutes you have, your equipment, and a short health declaration based on the PAR-Q+. Answer honestly, including injuries and medications, because a trainer who does not know cannot adapt. Ask Claude to show you the brief before it sends it, so you can correct anything.

What happens next

A certified trainer takes the order from a shared pool and reads your brief without your name, email or account. They see your age, your language and what you told Claude. They write the plan under a fixed template, and it ends with a Referral heading that points you to health care if anything in your brief calls for it.

Delivery is usually within two days of a trainer taking the order. That is a usual time, not a promise. You get an email when the document is in, and Claude can read it to you, turn week one into a checklist, or help you log each session as you go.

Some health declaration answers mean an order waits for a clinician's clearance, or is refused, and you are told why. This is wellness and performance for healthy adults 18 and over, never medical advice. If you have symptoms or a condition, see your doctor first.

A tip: keep it in a project

If you use Claude Projects, make one for your training. Keep the trainer's plan and your logs there, and each new chat starts with the full picture. When the block ends, ask Claude to order an evaluation from those logs, and the trainer has real data to work from.

Why a trainer, when Claude can write a plan
